SLIDESHOWS AND PRESENTATIONS
Michael Hopkins, PhD
This presentation was prepared by Michael Hopkins, PhD who was the speaker at our First Annual Parkinson's Seminar in Sackets Harbor, NY, in April 2013. He currently lives and works in New York City as a Surgical Neurophysiologist. Prior to that, Michael completed his doctoral degree at Dartmouth College in NH, studying the effects of physical exercise on learning and memory, as well as stress-related mood disorders such as anxiety and depression.
He has kindly provided the presentation slideshow below. He also shares that the purpose of this presentation is to provide general information about a condition known as Parkinson’s Disease (PD) and to describe some of the current research that is underway, exploring physical exercise as a treatment option for patients with PD. This presentation is intended as a resource for those diagnosed with PD as well as their friends and family members, and to increase awareness of PD among community members. The information provided in this presentation was gathered from publicly available sources and is not intended to represent the thoughts or opinions of any formally recognized or accredited organizations.
